About Me

CURRENT MISSION

A one-year sabattical to recharge the mind, refresh the soul, and refocus the mission.

ABOUT ME

I am 30 year-old male from Canada on a 1-year sabattical from teaching primary aged kids at a public school in Toronto. During the summers, I work at a camp for children with Cancer, running their Water Skiing program. I love listening to (or playing) music, wearing t-shirts and jeans, and riding my bike.

PHILOSOPHY

Leap and the net will appear.

If you don't know where you're going, any road will lead you there.

Focus on the journey, not the destination.

There's a fine line between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When this year of travel and assorted away-from-home projects is over, I hope to begin hosting Couch Surfers of my own. What a great way to meet people, make the big world a little smaller, and combat the social ills of "stranger danger".

For now, I'm relying on the trust and kindness of other hosts.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met people while travelling and then hosted them when they came to my city. I've also taken them up on their offers to stay with them in their cities.

Most recently, stayed with a friend of a friend of a friend (and her boyfriend) on a road trip in Halifax, NS. Turns out we also had a friend in common!

Also celebrated the holidays years ago with the family of a person I met while travelling in New Zealand. We still keep in touch.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving was an amazing personal challenge.

Running a 10km race cold-turkey was an amazing personal accomplishment.

Helping a girl with 1 leg waterski was a feeling of amazing personal satisfaction.

Teach, Learn, Share

The digits in multiples of 9 will always add up to 9.

Also, monkeys peel bananas upside down, to avoid the stringy bits.
