About Me

Hi! My name is Adam!

I am a medical student who studies at UCLA 1-year away from being a doctor! I want to be a Urologist (surgeon who works on the urinary system!) because the technology is amazing and you really get to make a difference for people. I have a specific interest in shared-decision making and transgender health. I would like to do gender-affirming surgeries in the future. Right now I am focusing on applying to residency! That being said, I have a TON of other interests!

The environment, education, music, and having a good laugh every day are some of the most important things to me! I used to be an environmental conservationist, a pre-school teacher, and a musician who was fortunate enough to perform at the House of Blues Chicago!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am Couchsurfing because I love to travel and meet new people. I hope that I can explore and provide interesting company to those I come into contact with!

I also hope to meet tons of cool friends on the way! I hope to gain some more perspective, laugh, and have warm conversations while sharing a few drinks!

Books:

Unfortunately science has staked it's claim in my literature life so much of my time is spent reading "academic" stuff. I admit I must make a more conscious effort to read casually :/ The most recent thing I read was called "White Coat Investor" on my plane back from a conference. I am happy to share some investment tips if you are interested!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was young I did not have a stable home so I left and became financially independent at 16. I worked a bunch of odd jobs as a dog-walker, babysitter, carpenter, bicycle mechanic, musician, and a few other things!

Back when I was struggling I learned how to save money so I traveled to Europe and made my life there for a while. After finding out I was accepted into medical school, I came back to the states and am 1-yr away from graduating and becoming a doctor!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can definitely teach you how to play guitar, mix a mean cocktail, shoot a basketball, throw a curveball, and cook a meal!
