Now and then it's a good idea to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy. My current mission is to just be happy.
After 10 years of higher education studying Physics and Engineering and five years working in a the corporate world, I did something very peculiar indeed - I resigned my nice comfortable job, sold off all of my stuff, and I took off to travel the world for a year. Itinerary? Don't really have one. Return flight? None of that either. I don't really know exactly where I'm even staying tonight... I've come equipped with a just sense of humor and a taste for adventure. Which way next?
I'm admittedly a huge geek - I get hugely into whatever I'm doing. In addition to my professional science geek background, I am also an huge yoga / human body geek... I'm continually amazed and fascinated with the experience of being a human being. After a year in yoga teacher school, and hundreds of hours of thai massage courses, I discovered AcroYoga, and I'm hooked. I've studied with some of the best acrobatics focused Acroyoga teachers that there are, and I love to play. Want to fly?
Yes, I'm a burner, too... (been to Burning many off and on for years...) First year on the Playa was 1996, and I've been back half dozen times since. Looks like I'll be there again 2012, helping my Santa Barbara family build the Enclave, 9:00 & Esplanade. Stop by for tea, won't you?
I've been in a fire dancing troupe as well. After all these years, yes, I still like to light things on fire and spin them around my body. I like to dance, too.
So... Scientist? Sure. Geek? Definitely. Artist? Yogi? I aspire to be so. Hippie Scum? Sadly. Explorer? Yes! Yes, yes. Most certainly.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I met two Brits via a long defunct newslist (remember those?) called "SFRaves" in 1995 - they came and stayed with me, and we became friends for life. I am strong believer in the potential for bringing such people together.
People. Smart, beautiful, interesting, lovely people.
