One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At 19, when I first went to New York, taking those first steps out of the subway in Manhattan was isane - being completely surrounded by skyscrapers to the point where the walls of buildings were so complete it felt as if you were inside ('inside-outside").

When I was staying in northern Peru, I visited Huaraz (a touristy city in the Andes) for a weekend. I took a bus with some new friends start a hike to Lagun 69 (that's the name I was told, I swear). After a good, high-altitude hike, seeing this amazingly bright, blue, placid lake with jagged rocks and glaciers spiking up the opposite side was incredible.
