About Me

Be the first person to hitchhike to Nunavut via iceroad truck.

I am a calm, soft-spoken enthusiastic and serious goofball who cannot stop laughing and smiling. I am a hybrid between a vegan hipster and an all-(un)american redneck, which makes me a hipnecker. I love interesting characters and harsh adventures that expand my comfort-zone and self awareness. I feel grounded during warm and in-depth conversations about complicated or absurd topics where everything is open and is left out on the table. Between two evils, I always pick the one I have never tried before.

My girlfriend, Abby Noon

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flown off of the back of a snowmobile going 50mph driven by an insane Ukrainian onto a trailer towing 2 week old food scraps into the remote Canadian subarctic wilderness at -30°C.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I love helping surfers learn English and exposing surfers to the background behind American political issues.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Dear surfers,

You do NOT need to write a custom request message. I know what it is like to be on the road month after month, and dealing with stranger after stranger, and all without steady Internet access. I have no expectations of my guest while hosting - my place, and everything I own is yours. Please never hesitate to ask me for help on anything before, during, or after you arrive. If you do not have cell phone coverage, feel free to ask me to research things online for you. Also, I enjoy cooking and eating dinner together, so expect spending about $5 on dinner and a small amount of social energy each night you stay over.

Dear hosts,

I know what it is like to host. I have seen and done it all on Couchsurfing. I have hosted 8 surfers at once and 40 surfers in 3 weeks - so I get it. All I ask from you is let me know ahead of time how I can contribute to your dinner and evening plans. I am very resourceful and love to collaborate when and if it is convenient for you. I enjoy 10 minute tours of the house instead of trying to navigate all of the drawers and rooms of the house myself after an over-stimulating day. But all I need is about 2 square meters on the floor. Thank you so much for your hospitality.
