ABOUT ME

I'm not well traveled and it's something that really bothers me. I've never left the east coast and while I try to experience as much as I can locally, I know I'm missing out on something.

I read a lot, I write a lot, I'm really into school. I'm also into most things pumpkin, folk music, black metal, death metal, punk rock, and jazz. I also like books about most of those things (I've yet to find a great literary representation of pumpkins, however). I ride a bike and a skateboard (which has the best deck ever, depicting a battle between two eagles, one armed with a knife and the other with a hair comb)

I've always wanted to go to Portland and that's what I'm going to try to use this site for.

PHILOSOPHY

Well, this is quite general. I live because it's better than the alternative. I have many feelings and thoughts.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had a few people stay here while getting on their feet in NY who ended up becoming good friends. I spent a few weeks on a couch in Florida a few years back and had a good time. I hope I can add more to this soon.

See above. I am also interested in parks, blowing bubbles, bourbon, virtue the cat, apple products, sustainability, and improving my sleep schedule.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Parties on subways, protests when I was 17, a bike ride to Coney Island directly followed by jumping in the ocean and swimming so far out I thought I might drown directly followed by a cold beer and a funnel cake on the sand.

I have been lucky enough to study under and work for one of the pioneering scholars of Women's Intellectual History, so I probably could tell you a thing or two about that.
