Find balance between learning, doing, and being.
Subjects that excite me: planning cities for people (not cars),neuroscience, psychology, philosophy, the link between mental & physical health.
I like to laugh frequently, share good conversation and find myself in natural places that make me wonder why we ever felt it was necessary to invent the internet (although I must applaud it for enabling services like CS).
Be intentional but don't plan too far ahead.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surfed some good couches and host when I can!
Two days in Argentina with the most warm-hearted family in Tucuman. Week-long tour of French-speaking Switzerland and a short bike trip through Catalunya, Spain.
Wandering around in the woods or on the beach with friends and without a care in the world. Reading (almost) whatever stumbles into my lap. Meditation. Working on my bicycle. Rock-climbing. Not one for huge parties or frequent clubbing, but every once in a while I can be known to let out the wild side. Almost always though would prefer a good conversation with friends over a couple of beers on the roof/porch/woods, etc.
Music, Movies, and Books
Always have found it hard to pick favorites so, here's what I've been listening to of late:
Various old-timey bluegrass records, Marcelo Camelo, the Rugy Parasols, Bob Dylan, Mikhael Paskalev, David Bowie, Eddie Vedder, Chico Buarque, Luis Alberto Spinetta, Almendra, Sui Generis, Sufjan Stevens, Music Ward, Radiohead, The Last Bison, Iron & Wine, Tibetan Chants...
The Self Comes to Mind, Lonesome Traveler, Monkey, Think, Cloud Atlas, Franny & Zooey, Catcher in the Rye, The Brief & Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, Civil Disobedience, Being Nobody-Going Nowhere, Brave New World...
Honestly don't watch the tube much. Favorite movie is probably The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Most recent watches: Teus Olhos Meus, Cloud Atlas, The Life Aquatic, Pirate Radio, Happy-Go-Lucky, The Kings of Summer (highly recommend that last one.)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Living abroad for a year in Argentina/Italy and living in a co-op with 18 other people the year before in beautiful Ithaca, NY. Coming back to your childhood home after all of that to live with your family for a summer--crazy to see how after 2 years of so many new experience you are entirely different/exactly the same as when you left.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: How to make homemade yogurt? Rudimentary bicycle maintenance?
Learn: Other languages. Really want to learn how to read/play music.
Share: The cooking!
