About Me

Find myself in the world.

I am a guy that has a passion for traveling that I got when I was younger moving around a lot. I have come to admire other cultures with diverse viewpoints and lifestyles. My own ideas tend to be melded together from various cultures and belief systems that I study. I am pretty philosophical and political and love a good debate.

Professionally I work with software helping businesses find success online (maybe because I could do it anywhere with an internet connection).

I love music. It has been a major part of my life since I was a child. I play keyboard (used to play drums and guitar) and dabble in recording when I get the chance. Drawing and painting is something I used to practice a lot but have not in a while. I consider myself a cross between an artist and engineer with an entrepreneurial spirit.

I am a dreamer trying to find myself in the world.

"If one advances confidently in the direction of one's dreams, and endeavors to live the life which one has imagined, one will meet with a success unexpected in common hours."

Henry David Thoreau

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Just starting out. Hopefully I'll be able to participate quite a bit (both couch surfing and hosting) in the coming months during my travels in Europe.

Haven't really been involved yet. Looking forward to getting more involved and meeting CSers in the future.

I spend A LOT of time online diagramming, documenting, and developing software, and really love what I do.

I enjoy attending and sometimes speaking at meetups on a variety of topics (but have a tendency to focus on technology and music). It is important to me to stay connected to what is happening in the world around me so I tend to read a lot of news, blogs, tweets, etc... I also enjoy reading books, but mainly non fiction. If I want fiction I watch a movie.

Walking around aimlessly around big cities is something I find myself doing a lot. Thank goodness for sidewalks. I tend to gravitate to larger cities as I find they are normally more diverse and open to a wider range of human existence. The energy of the city is something that I feed on.

I love all things music and when I get the chance I play keyboard (when I am home). It's a great emotional outlet that balances the logical nature of my work. It's nice to have something where there is no right or wrong, just raw feeling.

I like hanging around people that make me think and challenge my conceptions of the world around me. I like adventurous people and people that seem to make friends with everyone. Most of all I admire honesty, open mindedness, and passion. Being able to associate and learn from those with characteristics I admire is always welcome.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Sucker for sci-fi, mysteries, and documentaries
Books: Non fiction about a lot of topics

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It is very moving driving from the barrenness of Utah and Nevada at night and crossing over a big hill and seeing an oasis of light that is Las Vegas in the distance. Las Vegas is interesting to me because it literally goes from city streets with street lights to desert. It just ends, and at night the oasis of light is very beautiful from a distance against a backdrop of desert darkness.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can discuss life in the US with you as I have been all over the states, teach you some English, or help you plan your next web site (and show you how to build it). If your interested in the financial and stock markets, I can share my experience and give you pointers. I can also show you how to do some music recording in Ableton Live (although I am somewhat of a beginner myself).

Countries I’ve Visited
