About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To make enough money to move to France and live in the countryside.
ABOUT ME
I am a graduate student at UCLA - I study ethnomusicology, music of the Middle East . . . I am married to Caleb. I travel around the US and the world a lot for work, but we only get a vacation every once in a while. We moved from Kansas to LA nine years ago. Love the sun and laid back attitude, but could do without the traffic and flakiness.
PHILOSOPHY
"If you are a peg, endure the knocking; if you are a mallet, strike." ~Moroccan proverb
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to help people who come to LA feel more comfortable and come to know the city better. LA is a hard place to know, and it often feels like there is no there there, or here, here - its very spread out and detached. I've figured out every other city I've lived in or even visited in less than a week, but it took me almost seven years to understand LA. But there are many good things here that all visitors should see to enjoy themselves - so I am here to help with that!

Los Angeles has no public transportation -- seriously. The train system is incomplete, and the buses are incomprehensible, so you can never really get everywhere you need to go. If you want to see everything LA has to offer - or even 50% of it - you need a car. You cannot survive in this town without a car. People who believe that they saw most of the city without a car, did not really see anything at all. Have car, will drive (if you are in LA!).
