Ashley and I are both teachers. We like running, board games, reading, and cooking and eating different foods. In the summer, we like going to the Levitt Shell free concerts in Memphis.
CouchSurfing is primarily a network, and not a service. Treat it as such!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I used to be the Memphis Ambassador, but that program changed significantly and I chose to no longer participate. Ashley and I have both hosted individually, and now we host together.
I've hosted and surfed. I've had some great times with Couchsurfing. In Montreal, my host and I sat in his very uncomfortable kitchen and chatted until almost midnight. I always took my guests out on the town in Korea. The guys who hosted me in St. Paul were a blast. Each surf is unique and each surf has its own potential. Now I'm hosting in Memphis. Ashley and I also CouchSurf when we travel.
I love hosting CouchSurfers; I get to travel the world without leaving my house.
While hospitality is my core CouchSurfing value, I believe that it is a reciprocal experience. Both parties must understand that CS is a human experience, not a commercial one. CS hosts are not hostels and don't appreciate being treated as such.
Chess, reading, theatre, running. Those languages in my profile are the various results of aborted attempts at learning. Ashley also likes sewing very much. We are in a process of continually updating our home. We are trying to start a garden.

Sunset over the horizon while eating seafood on the beach.
Teach, Learn, Share
When in a foreign restaurant and you can't read the menu, always choose the second or third dish listed. Chances are good you've already had the first thing.
Did you know that Google has transit directions?
