To see the world, to find a place of peace, to connect with others who do not judge on the basis of race, gender, social status, etc.,.
A lover of music, movies, the arts. Perhaps a bit too sarcasatic for my own good. But with a passion and a great appreciation for diversity of all types - race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age, socio-economics, etc.,.
Everything that we obtain isn't always the result of hardwork. Sometimes it's a gift from the gods, or our parents, or a gift of luck and circumstances. And even when what we obtain comes from our own hard work, isn't the right thing - the moral thing - to give back to those less fortunate?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Not nearly enough. Dig the site. Love the idea. I really need to get more involved ...
I'm always a bit apprehensive when I first email someone. While I know my world perspective; I don't know theirs. Fortunately, I have found most - not all - are responsive and good resources.
Many have been more. Offering to meet for drinks or dinner or to be a tour guide. Time hasn't often allowed me to meet everyone that I've corresponded with. But the ones that I've talked to (via phone, email, or face to face) have embodied what CS is about.
I've always promised myself that I wouldn't become one of those people who put secret words in their profiles (as proof that a surfer has read them) or that I needed a surfer to have 22 pictures and 10 references to let them stay. And I'm sticking to that. HA! But I will say that it's nice when you get the sense that a person has read your profile (which can be tough when someone is desperately emailing 50 people for a place to sleep ... still, its a personal response is a nice touch!)
And since I do like to interact with my surfers, I rarely accept 1 night stay requests. But there have been exceptions.
My interests tend to be a bit all over the place:
1. Spend time on cheaptickets looking for cheap tickets. HA!
3. Making martinis
4. Working out.
5. Downloading music.
6. Making martinis while downloading music while writing and searching for cheaptickets.
7. Love to play tennis, boxed for a while, wrestled in school
8. Wondering how to make the world more socially conscious.
9. Looking for the next best sushi restaurant
10. Enjoying friends and family ...
11. Having random and sometimes inappropriate conversations with people I've just met ..
Up next: trips to Mexico (I know, it's a bordering country and I've never been) and to Morocco ...

Music, Movies, and Books
iTune junkie ... I tell no lie. And I dig lots of people randomly. In the last 6 months, I've downloaded songs by Estelle, Usher, Flight Facilities, Mary J, Teyanna Taylor, Ricky Martin, Holy Ghost, Kiko Navarro, Cheap Picasso, Lee DeWyze, Tortured Soul, Basement Jaxx, Tove Lo, Chromeo, and Third Party (to name a very short list ...)
Been trying to finish my own book, so been pretty lazy about reading others lately. But it was probably something by James Patterson ...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've done some wonderful things, met some beautiful people, created outstanding friendships, listened to music that touched my soul, and saw the world in different perspectives ....
