ABOUT ME

I'm a keen outdoors person on the road traveling. After working in engineering for the last three years I'm looking to get away from the everyday and have a big adventure so I'm traveling for 12 months to experience new places and meet people. I'm keeping my plans rough.
I'm more interested in seeing the sights, meeting the people and tasting the food than partying on my travels. Exciting days ahead!

PHILOSOPHY

I don't have a single philosophy I live by. I'm constantly learning, refining and reflecting on concepts and ideas.
I guess my personal philosophy would revolve around personal development and learning. I love learning from my own and other people's experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to couch surfing so I would like to participate by meeting some hosts and possibly couch surfing while I tour Europe. I think it would be amazing to see what it is like to live in Europe as opposed to the normal tourist experience etc.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None just yet, but I'm traveling soon so hopefully not too far away!

Music, Movies, and Books

TV: I love Seinfeld! And other good comedy.
Movies: anything that isn't a junk food type of movie I can be interested in. I don't see many these days but I always appreciate Stanley Kubrick films and a good war film.
Music: yes.
Books: Mainly non fiction so far but I'm changing. I recently read Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance, The Good life, The art of travel by Alain de Botton, Ideas from fire to Freud by Peter Watson.
And I've also recently been scouring several lonely planet guides for obvious reasons.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed to the top of Mount Aspiring in New Zealand with 3 other friends. I never appreciated mountains for their beauty and challenging conditions before this, I'll never forget it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm interested in learning more mountaineering skills. Enough to allow me to try some more technical peaks.
I have good experience hiking and camping. I can navigate using a compass or GPS.
