Recently returned from a teaching assignment in Asia (China) and--while currently working in Vegas--will decide my next professional move (hopefully in the very near future). Currently pondering return to Eastern Europe (Kosovo); with the hope of remaining in the country that I most admire--while assisting with various long-term projects--for the foreseeable future.
Though much of my professional life has been spend working in the business/corporate arena; my actual professional (and even personal) joy would be to eventually return to the social/human services field (in a management or administrative capacity). Depending upon the situation, even the "front lines" in the above field/career change would suffice. Many individuals who know me state that I am quiet, methodical, passionate about my ideas and objective (I'm sure this is just part of the counselor in me). In addition, I believe in constant perseverance until one has achieved his objectives...and then to reach for more!
To do the very best you can with what you have to offer. Another is to ALWAYS retain hope in one's life; for hope NEVER fails.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The majority of my travels--both domestic and international--I have stayed in hotels in the cities/locations that I have visited. Currently, I have not had any couch-surfing experiences to share with the group at this time.
Bowling (though not very good at it), reading and traveling.
Music, Movies, and Books
books I enjoy: non-fiction, medical mysteries
movies I enjoy: scary, factual, historical (depending upon the movie). Several excellent movies are: "One Flew Over the Cookoo's Nest" starring Jack Nicholson. Another is "Shawshank Redemption" starring Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins....excellent!!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In my opinion, just to be able to have the ability to travel (especially internationally) is amazing in itself.
Teach, Learn, Share
1) Always be respectful toward and be there for others!!
2) As a former crisis intervention counselor (among other former professional positions held:-), listening and following through is paramount in any relationship.
3) Never forget to take time out for oneself (even briefly) and relax (sometimes easier said than done).
