About Me

Through Couchsurfing I see sides of cities, cultures and people I would never be able to on my own

My Current Trip:
For ten months I have been travelling through Central and South America. For the first month I traveled with a girl; my friend Chaney. Since then I have been travelling solo. I don't know how much time I have left on this journey.

My Past Trips:
I went on a few road trips that introduced me to couchsurfing but it wasn't until I worked for Alaska Airlines during the last half of 2013 that I really began to travel meaningfully. Flying standby on my days off I was able to see a lot of the US and Mexico in a short amount of time. Working on the ramp crushed my soul but every weekend I could walk onto a plane for free, and that made it all worth it.

My City:
I'm proud to live in the weirdest city in the USA: beautiful Portland, Oregon. It can be a little overrated, pretentious, and quiet at times but when it comes down to it it really is a great place to thrive.

Life is too short to be taken seriously but it's also too short to not be taken seriously

I'm writing a book about this experience traveling through Latin America.

Meet fun people, do fun things, eat fun food and see fun places.

University, adventure travel, podcasts, minimalism and frugality, alternative cultures and lifestyles, partying, internationalism, futurism, hiking, and wearing shorts instead of pants

Music, Movies & Books

Shantaram, Lord of the Rings, Fahrenheit 451, Things Fall Apart, Country of the Blind, How to Win Friends and Influence People, Conquistador: Hernán Cortés, King Montezuma, and the Last Stand of the Aztec, Holy Cow: An Indian Adventure, the Sex Lives of Cannibals

Reggaeton. America's sweetheart and the toast of Florida: Pitbull! Also country music will always hold a special place in my heart. Who brought the party? Damn, that was Florida Georgia Line.

Fight Club, Footloose, Dazed and Confused, The Motorcycle Diaries, Lord of the Rings, Top Gun, Space Jam, and Grownups 2.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

1: This life changing tour through Latin America!

2: Working for an airline and being able to fly all across the United States for free!
