ABOUT ME

I travel for my job, which is not nearly as glamorous as it sounds, but it does come with certain perks such as seeing many parts of the USA I probably woudn't get to, and accrueing frequent flier miles to help me see the rest of the world.

PHILOSOPHY

I just try to listen to and abide by my intution; always followed up by the guidance of those I love and trust.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to the international traveler circuit having previously done trips with family or visiting friends, and am excited to meet more people around the world via couch surfing. My first steps are to test the waters during my upcoming adventure to South America, after which point I hope to settle my work-related travel down a bit and perhaps host a surfer or two in the future. Colorado powder days, anyone??

Interests

When traveling I like to take it slow. Having done a few organized tours, I realized my preference (when possible) is to visit places on my schedule, and stay as long as I feel is necessary to get to know the place. Often I do not get the luxury of spending weeks and weeks somewhere, but all in all I prefer taking my time with a good meal, a glass of wine, and good conversation with locals, fellow travelers, and new friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Have to admit my love of Harry Potter, international wizard extraordinaire. I was a much better-read youth, including such greats as The Catcher in the Rye, Slaughterhouse Five, Fareinheight 451 and On The Road. Then I went to school and stopped reading anything worthwhile for a few years. ;) Now I read whatever I can get my hands on, and in general I prefer it to the TV. My music taste is pretty diverse, pretty much whatever I can dance to (but I usually prefer to do that alone). Movies are all over the board too, with one rule: no scary movies. I am a wimp and cannot handle them. Cheesy romance? Historical drama? Action flick? Bring it on! Just keep the blood and guts away...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In my country, the Grand Canyon takes my breath away every time. My family was able to share the experience with our Lithuanian relatives and it was amazing to see how awestruck they were by the shear size of it. I love the outdoors, and hiking the canyon is one of the best ways to appreciate the control mother nature has over us.
