ABOUT ME

I am in the "working world". That being said, I have an amazing job working with refugee and immigrant youth that have recently arrived to Winnipeg. I wouldn't trade it for the world (though I wouldn't mind taking a break and traveling the world!).

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to this thing but it seems like its right up my alley. Random people, sharing stories, showing people around and couches. Hopefully of the outdated, tacky variety - no plastic covering though.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None as of yet - though my friends have done it and have highly recommended it to me. The house I live in has had many touring musicians crashing with us (my roommates are musicians).

Interessi

Canoeing, Reading, Activism, Community Development, Outdoor Pursuits of the mosquito filled variety, Dodgeball, Photography, Music, Concerts, Stuff, making lists of words that don't really say or mean anything.

Musica, film e libri

I will pretty much read, watch and or listen to anything (at least try it).

Movies: Momento; Being John Malchovich; The Kite Runner; Lost Boys of Sudan; Royal Tenenbaums; The Wizard; Kill Bill(s) etc.
Music:Indie/Pop/Electronica/Local Music/Jazz/Classical /My roommates practicing in the basement
Books: Anything about or from the countries I want to visit, biographies of slightly bizarre or political people, fiction (Vonnegut, Palanniuk, Nabakov, Robbins etc.) and political theory stuff.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

Hitchhiked by myself across the Iranian/Turkish Border at night and then sipped very strong tea with some sweet Kurdish sheep-herders on the side of the road while watching the sunrise.

I can teach you how to make a fool of yourself in front of kids/youth. I can also teach you how to canoe.
