About Me

ABOUT ME

You'd get some lies thrown in with some truth for starters. They'd tell you that I'm whacked in the head or that my mom must of dropped me on my head when I was little. Alex can be a beast, a maniac, and he is at times and we love him when he gets like that. But most of the time he prefers the simple pleasures in life. He's one of those simplicity and minimalism "people". He enjoys substance over flash any day of the week. He's always williing to try out new things, especially if he feels uncomfortable about them. One minute he's cracking jokes and the next thing he's up in some tree lost in his thoughts reading some sufi poetry book he found in a dumpster once. He loves to play, and sing, and dance, and in general doesn't mind embarassing himself. He feels that you only get one shot at this life so he has to therefore make the most of it, the good, the bad, and the ugly. He's ... Alex, etc etc.

Interests

Reading. Writing. Talking to random people. Walking around. Juggling. Spending time with family. Trying to figure out how to play the hormica without sounding like some deranged psychotic rail hobo. Being honest without hurting. Hiking. Taking random photo of people screaming, black and white preferable, the color, not the race. Listening to education podcasts. Gogling the heck out of things that I might want to learn to do but then dont end up doing because I find something more interesting. Watching youtube videos of DIY projects. Sewing stuff like a sleeping bag liner out of fleece by hand because I don't have a sewing machine. Blah blah.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Does losing my virginity count? (awkward silence). The first time I hitch hiked which happened to be in Argentina, which was from Buenos Aires to Esperanza, Santa Fe, in a hitchhiking gathering. It blew my mind that you could just raise up your little buddy (your thumb) and someone would actually stop. I was blown away. The people that took me along in the trip, well, they'll stay with me forever. The solidarity, the instant friendship. I hate to be stereotypical about this but stepping into Machu Pichu was amazing. But then again so was getting robbed at gun point in Tumbes Peru. Ohhh who am I kidding. I find almost everything awestruckingly.
