ABOUT ME

Alex is a nice kid with an adventurous spirit and a very large imagination. He is a bit of a perfectionist and likes to get things done right once he starts them. He interacts well with local cultures and is a respectful houseguest. He is just beginning to cook, but has a passion for it. Hanging out with Alex is a sure way to get some laughs, funny guy.

Interests

Things that make me very interested are local stories and lore from other cultures. I enjoy looking at different types of art and how and why they came about. I like to see mythologies that local cultures have, and how enthusiastic people are about these things in the area. I also enjoy hiking, surfing, and boardsports are my favorite form of exercise.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching a sunset from a glacier in Patagonia, the sky went from green to yellow to gold to orange to red, and finally the sky turned a bright brown, and I had never seen a sunset this color before in my life; nor over such a beautiful vista.
When I went to Hawaii, the waves got to about 15 feet (4.5 meters), but the waves still had perfect, square, gigantic barrels. I watched it in awe for about fifteen minutes then had the best surf session of my life.
When I went to a small village in Peru to help volunteer to build a school, I noticed that the mountains surrounding this village in the valley looked a little wierd. So I asked the locals why the mountains looked strange, they told me it was all ancient agricultural terraces, made by the incas, all the way to the mountaintops. I stood there looking in disbelief for a long time.
