About Me

Just got back to America to live in L.A. after living/working in Australia and New Zealand for a year. I'll set down my art to begin more studies in jazz saxophone and begin recording music.

I am very open-minded and have a belief human interaction and friends are what make up core values of life, not the job you work or the money you make.

I play music, shoot photos and create branding identities for companies, among other creative pursuits.

Before Oz, I lived in Denver a couple years after arriving via backpack. The start of my journey began in my home state of Ohio. While in Ohio, I quit my jobs, set down my business to proceed on an exploration of my own terms. This was necessary for me to do on numerous levels and the value of it all is immense. The people I have met, the experiences I have had, the generosity and love I have seen from others, and the richness of the pursuit of happiness were all so worth it. I do not feel a good soul can flourish or grow by sitting in an office or another stifled environment constantly without first realizing what it is that drives them, what they thirst for or what really causes them to create and do what it is they do. I left in order to learn, to grow and to be.

If you missed it in the section above, I play the saxophone. I am setting aside my art and photography to push into a music career and am always looking to find people to collaborate with. Hit me up if you would like to jam.

I write lyrics, mainly hip-hop and poetry, in addition to inspirational writing.

I am a creative thinker and doer, who is always pulling ideas out of air. Philosophies, ideas, and the people connected to those interest me.

I enjoy thinkers, doers, movers, shakers, music and art makers, laughers, and weird people. The weirder the better. Correction: "more weird"

If you can share about yourself in a group of strangers than I would like to meet you because I like open people who are not afraid to put their thoughts and ideas out there.

Please do not hesitate to contact for any questions, comments, collaborations or ideas. I am an open book who is only out here to create, to share, to learn and to experience.

I'm outgoing, random, philosophical, artist, athletic, adventurous, comfortable in quirky situations, a bit quirky myself, sometimes shy at first if the situation is off-putting, but will warm up to others quickly, knowledge-seeking, bold, trusting, optimistic, spiritual but not religious

Anything outdoors is my thing. I'll try it at least once.

I like black coffee, trying new kinds of tea, art, creative people, ideas, a good read, exploring, making new friends, meeting fellow couchsurfers and learning new things from them. Any boardsport is awesome in my book. Love learning new languages, writing.

Give me real conversation. That conversation where your soul lights up and the understanding is tangible. On the other hand though, I also enjoy peaceful silence. Solitude can bring so much clarity that often times, talking cannot being. Life is not about how many words you can pour out of your face just for the sake of ego.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I traveled out to Denver to stay with some buddies of mine for our annual hiking trip and we had a local surfer, Ashley, graciously invite us to hike in Boulder with her. She was a great person, very welcoming and I had a great time meeting her.

If you ever are out traveling, do not hesitate to post up your itinerary even if you do not need a place to surf, because you can still meet up and become friends with some amazing people you would never have come across otherwise.

After having backpacked the west for six months, I met and was taken under wing by so many kind and inspiring individuals. I learned from them, of their culture, of their family and how they lived. That is really what couchsurfing is all about. It's not about just trying to catch a free place so you can save a dollar and go out on your own explorations. Communicate, connect, learn, grow with the locals.

I keep in touch with many of the folks I stayed with and write them emails/letters on occasion. Learning from them was such a huge factor in my travels and hope to meet many more amazing couchsurfers.

I am seeking more than just money and love out of life. I am seeking truth and am living happily while doing it. I am not seeking out some benevolent career that is going to suck me dry until the grave. I am exploring the creativity and passion for all forms of art as my driving life. Career is not the main goal. Those come and go with the changing states of life and with being.

Music, Movies, and Books

Into the Wild (the book) the film is not bad. I listen to a wide variety of music. Hip-hop, jazz, funk, blues, electronic, rock, americana, indie.

Love movies with comedy, drama, action, twisty plots and creative cinematography. Eckhart Tolle. Kerouac.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When my buddies and I hiked up Long's Peak and stood amongst the clouds at the tip of the Appalachian Trail. Literally couldn't breathe ha.

When I jumped in the Pacific Ocean for the first time. Very cold.

Stayed down at bright angel in the grand canyon. Hiked down, camped, hiked back out after several days of trails. It was difficult but awesome.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a creative thinker and doer, who is always pulling ideas out of air. Philosophies, ideas, and the people connected to those interest me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my knowledge of music, the saxophone, little bit of guitar and uke.

I can share my thoughts on art with you, and help you with critiquing your own art projects, or help you to see them in a different light. I can even join in on a collaborative project if you're up for it.

I can help you with shooting photography and understanding your camera better/what makes a good shot.

I can speak a little spanish or english with you.
