About Me

I've lived in New York City my whole life, learning how to navigate the city and its crowds from an early age. But there's much more to this planet than concrete and skyscrapers, and I'd like to see more.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd like to travel in a way that provides the most enriching and unique experience possible and I'd say that in that mix is getting to know locals and making friends worldwide.

Interests

I love exploring my faith (Christian), I'm very much a history buff, and unequivocally social. I like to talk, doesn't matter what subject, I just love listening and learning. I'm very well versed in alcohol of any kind, specifically wines. I can speak some french and am improving as well as Koine Greek (language of most of the original New Testament). I collect vinyl records and play them often too. Though one of my favorite interests is exploring and experiencing nature through hiking and other similar activities.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a big fan of classical music; Wagner and Tchaikovsky are some of my favorites in that genre. Also I very much enjoy classic rock. I'm a very big fan of cinema too. Coppola and Kubrick directed some of my favorite films Full Metal Jacket and Goodfellas to name a few. I read a lot, tons of literature. The Bible is central, since I am a Christian. Tolkien has always been a favorite of mine, but mainly, since I'm a history buff, I like to read historical literature with a particular interest in the history of the nomadic Scythians of Central Asia.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've had a couple of moments which really stick out . I remember once I went to Eldred, New York with my family to stay at this house my dad's friend owned the summer, before my Junior year of high school. The friend of my dad's didn't get there until the next day so that dusk when we got there, I walked to the lake and saw one of the most awing sunset I'd ever seen; it was hard to even describe the emotions that I felt at that moment. The other moment was when I went to my friend's house in Vermont and I was waiting for him to get suited up, as it was the middle of a harsh, snowy winter. There I stood in the morning sun with no wind, nobody around, surrounded by the mammoth trees that enclosed the clearing I was in. There I heard utter silence for the first time, and I truly came to believe since then that sometimes, silence is the best sound.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know much about history, mainly European history. Anything you'd like to know, I could probably give details about. Aussi je parle un peu français donc je peux partager ce que je sais. If you don't speak French and you don't have access to translation, basically I know some French and I can impart my knowledge same thing goes for Koine Greek (don't fancy many people would want to learn that haha). Also obviously I can speak English and I have a lot to share about New York City regarding culture, sights to see and more. What I'd like to learn: more languages of any kind. I'd like to learn other cultures and immerse myself in them as well as the local area I'm staying in.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share above all a unique and lovable personality. I can impart my deep knowledge of theology, history, and languages and I engage in meaningful and interesting conversation.
