About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To always learn something new.

ABOUT ME

The traveling bug bit me hard though money is a bit tight. There is a reason why my occupation is called nonprofit:-)I suppose this started from a young age when I was born in a cold day in January in Heidelberg, Germany to an army dad (and no I can't speak German). Back in 2009, I did a whirlwind tour from Marrakech to Istanbul.

I love music. I sing very loudly in the car, shower, in different rooms of the house, and well in most places. I can't say I'm a musical expert, but I always feel honored when I can find a song that speaks to someone. I'll listen to just about anything..folk, bluegrass, Tourareg, Indian, etc.

Oh and you must not mind a dog and maybe a bit of doghair. Lakota is a husky/shepherd/?? mix. She's very friendly and mostly sleeps when she is inside.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm usually reading something. Last book I finished was "Bright's Passage", which was written by one of my favorite musicians, Josh Ritter. Otherwise, I'm readings boring text books for school.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wow, amazing things. I've seen quite a bit of amazing things:-) In my mountains, the Appalachians, I've seen waterfalls, sunsets, shooting stars, bears, foxes, deer birds, snow capped mountains, the leaves changing colors, wide clear rivers, and fireflys lighting up the skies.

I have bought a hookah from a man in a Casablancan market, who sang to me and brought me mint tea. (I'm pretty sure I made a bad deal..but that's how it goes.) I have watched snake charmers in Marrakech and been in cool tiled palaces. I climbed up a hill in Athens only to find a cable car on the other side. I've been to Venice and Rome, Sofia in Bulgaria, Madrid and Barcelona, and Istanbul. I measured the streets of Amsterdam, Bruges, and Brussels and once biked from Amsterdam to Hoorn.

In my early 20s, I studied in England. Wandered around ancient walled cities and somehow got lost in the countryside of Ireland. I've been to the Isle of Skye and Paris, France.
