Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It seems like a fun way to travel. I have not actually tried it yet, but if you get a message from me it means I'm about to start!

Interests

I enjoy noticing the smaller things in life. Working as an electrical/electronic engineer, I love how a design in my head ultimately results in something very tangible and real. I'm starting to specialize in renewable energy infrastructure projects (mostly solar PV).

Music, Movies, and Books

Radiohead, Muse, Chopin and Rachmaninov really do it for me. So do Carl Sagan and Arthur C Clarke, I wish I could live in their universes. Movies: Quentin Tarantino and generally most movies that only show in art house cinemas.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've spent weeks on end in hiking in the South African Drakensberg, it was a very humbling experience. I have also implemented some of my designs at work that have left me extremely proud. When I was a carefree student, I played a lot of piano and *almost* perfected Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu (then I started working and suddenly didn't have so much free time anymore).
