ABOUT ME

I am a very laid back person, but always looking for something new and exciting to do. This makes me the perfect travel buddy because I am game to explore anywhere but won't get stressed out when things don't go according to plan : ) I truly believe that most of the fun is getting there! I love couchsurfing because it goes perfectly with my outlook on life- you get out of it what you put in, and you should always give selflessly and wholeheartedly.

PHILOSOPHY

I tend to pick fun over obligations, because I never want to have said "I wish I would have..." Life is too short to not take advantage of opportunity, and where there's a will there's a way. If I want to do something and make it a priority, I make it happen. You always regret the chances you don't take.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have gone to a few couch surfing gatherings, and hosted my first couchsurfer in May of 2010! When traveling, I always try to mix up my hosteling with couchsurfing; it gives you the opportunity to meet some amazing people. I hope to show the same hospitality and kindess to the people couchsurfing in my town as the people I have met have shown me!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted once, and met some wonderfully interesting people at couch surfing gatherings. I think it's a great way to make the world seem a little smaller; after all, we're one big community! All the couchsurfing experiences I have had where I have stayed have been honestly, really wonderful and positive.

Interessen

I love outdoors sports and being outside in general, especialy doing things like boating, snowboarding, beach volleyball, rock climbing, running, swimming, and anything that involves sunshine : ) I could spend hours looking at art and sight-seeing; I love taking pictures and if I never bought anything on a single vacation but had thousands of photos of my trip I would be happy. I enjoy discovering new favorite foods and restaurants, and love a good glass of wine or a great beer (a real Guiness from Ireland hits the spot!).

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I love almost every type of music, and could go to a concert every day. I listen predominantly to rock, alternative, and country but enjoy anything from Blues to Opera; it just depends on my mood. And most any live music is great, no matter what it is. I love to read, which makes me a huge nerd I know, but my recent favorite book is Bitter is the New Black (it's hilarious- pick it up sometime). I have a list of books I must read which is always being added to, so please, share one with me that I need to add to the list! I have a pretty wide range of movies that are my favorite but I like movies that have a twist at the end that you never saw coming. My new addiction is IMAX 3-D movies; I wish every movie could be seen like that...

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Seeing the Great Barrier Reef was pretty amazing! I also worked at a bar at the top of a building in Grand Rapids and almost every night got to witness gorgeous sunsets; I never took them for granted, and miss that view every day. Cinque Terre has also permanently been branded in my mind as breath taking. I wish I could hike it every weekend.
