ABOUT ME

My friend Zoe and I are international students from the US studying in Dunedin for the semester. We are hoping to spend our mid semester break in Nelson, exploring as much as possible and having a great time! We are friendly and easy-going, and are very excited to see a new part of New Zealand. At home, Zoe lives in New Jersey, and I (Alina) live in Vermont.

Interests

As university students, we embrace every free moment that we can get to escape from work and adventure. We are able to leave almost every situation having had fun and created memories. Zoe is passionate about her work with non-profit organizations, and recently was able to travel to Alaska as part of her work. Alina is also interested in non-profit work, and spends her summers volunteering with Special Olympics, working with individuals with special needs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For Alina, hiking to Machu Picchu tops her list of life-changing experiences. Being able to experience first-hand the "lost" city of the Incas changed her perspective of ancient civilizations and their effect on modern day society. Zoe's work with Habitat for Humanity has made her into the person she is today. Knowing that her work has changed the lives of many families drives her to continue volunteering.
