Vivir... y no morir en el intento !!!! - Live...and no die trying !!!!
My name is Alicia and... I don't know ... although I'm a normal person I'm not very conventional. Basically I love music, and the street, and people. I try to play the piano, guitar, percussion and whatever... my new instrument is the violin!! But nothing good: I'm a happy frustrated fan, so "Ridicule" is for me a respectable art. I try to avoid planes but also all kind of luxury and unneeded consumer. I like to live with the minimum and my territory is the street and the outdoors. Reading and writing are other passions of so many ... but over all I like people and sharing time and experiences with others. And, whenever it's possible, with good humor.
Think global, act local!
and..."Excess is excrement", as I recently read in "The Dispossessed" by Ursula K. Leguin. From there, you can make a general idea about me: I don't like everything that involves money. I prefer the simplicity of the little things of the life , the naturalness, the spontaneity... so, the good humor, laughter, music ... are my main weapons in living life. As Emma Goldman said "If I can't dance, I don't want to be in your revolution"
And I don't know, nothing has more value for me today that complicity with someone else: a friendship.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Everyone has always known that my house is the home of all. I'm a specialist in picking up people off the street and make it endearing friendships emerge.
I am very happy with CS. Thanks to which I have been able to meet exceptional people around the world. I have always found good people whom I wouldn´t hesitate to help them again. And, of course, people whom I would be happy to return the favor they did for me at the time.
All you can do in the street: dancing, playing music, running ahead of the police...
I'm always looking for the "why" to everything, so I like the politics and activism but, beyond that, I try to avoid value judgments on the others. Just I love discussions because I like to learn, so I love even discussing nonsenses.
But also I like reading, writing, movies, the field, drawing ...
I'm a person who loves to talk and listen about everything: sit around the table after-lunch and spending time until the evening, even until the next day, can be a big party for me. I also enjoy in silence.
Music, Movies, and Books
I love music such as films or books, so I couldn't make a list that was true reflection of my preferences. Besides, I'm not good at remembering titles and names. But I will leave some examples of each: Le vieil homme et l'enfant, Classical music in general, The god of small things, Queen, Alberti, Hª universal de la infamia, the rhythm and blues, dark dark dark, Los Santos Inocentes, Le petit prince, Pink Floyd, Eduardo Galeano, Yes ma'am :D, La noche del cazador, Furtivos, The godfather... but it would be an endless list.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
All of us have some amazing experience ... but I prefer reserve it in case we meet.
Teach, Learn, Share
I don't know much of anything, but I'm willing to share with you all that I can offer. I studied in college to become a children's teacher and I'm "finishing" linguistic's studies. So I love the languaje and culture intricacies (I speak some languages and I'm a spanish teacher for foreigners also). I'm studing arabic as a hobby and I love to practice my horrible english.
I can also offer music lessons, and if you have a guitar, a harmonica, a drum or anything that makes noise, sure we can do something with.
Or I can tell you my travel experiences for you do with them whatever you want (roads, good points to make hitchhiking, places that may interest you go, or not ...).
And learning ... I'm always willing to learn anything.
¡Arriba la paciencia!
