About Me

I'm a recent English Language and Literature graduate with a focus on contemporary US Lit and local independent publishing. I'll be starting teacher's college in the Fall out in Vancouver. I was born and raised in a mid-sized city in Ontario that borders Detroit, Michigan and because of this I can give convert between metric and imperial measurements, stomach a Coney Dog, and tell you all about South Detroit.

During the summer months I work at a camp in Northern Ontario that specializes in working with campers with high functioning Autism, ADHD, or general learning disabilities. It's been beyond amazing and things get barbaric on a good day, which is just the way we like it.

In September I'll be moving cross country to start my grand adventure in BC. Out there I'll be learning how to be a teacher, hiking every trail I can get my little feet on, and sleeping in a loft bed. I'm excited.

I have a few little dogs, named after sweet things, a whole bunch of books, and a boyfriend who's downright lovely. He indulges me when I get a little wild and wanna climb mountains. He doesn't mind when I wear my sassy pants. He likes overcast days and telling me about the stars. He's one of the good ones.

I like to ride bikes and tell stories. I'm clumsy, a little reckless, and overly optimistic. I like sunrises and cicadas. People say I'm soft-spoken and they tell me I'm kind.

Right now my life is a bit of a whirlwind and as such I can't accept guests at this moment, I'm camping most of May, working at camp from June until August, and in September I'm moving. Once I'm settle out west people will be more than welcome to come visit me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A few vagabond friends of mine introduced me to the concept a few years ago so I decided to finally give it a shot because I really liked the idea and they had had such positive experiences with it.

Interests

Books hold a special place in my heart, but other than that, I adore music, both listening to it and making it (I play ukulele, xylophone, harmonica, and clarinet). I climb, boulder, slack-line, play half-assed tennis, and run. I've been camping and hiking since I was young and I can bake a mean cupcake when I set my mind to it. I like good beer and better wine, black tea and dark chocolate, and I'm almost always excited to try new things.
