just to travel as much as I can and meet new people before I finish my studies and have to worry about finding a job
I am an art student studying mainly film and video in New York, but last summer I was on exchange in Paris for half a year and then stayed in Europe to travel and study languages
so I guess one of my main hobbies is language learning. I was able to live with families over the summer so I can speak french, german, and polish..
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
hopefully once my roommates and I clean out the apartment we can set up a couch or an extra mattress somewhere for other surfers to come to New York!
I actually have not had any couch surfing experience but after good reviews from friends I have decided to give it a try!
I spend a lot of time watching old french films from La Nouvelle Vague, a lot of italian neo realism, and right now I have been trying to watch more central eastern european film from the 70s and 80s.
I am really interested and languages and learning about other cultures, so I guess this is why I study languages, because I am interested in talking to other people and learning a language is quite rewarding!
I like to read when I have the free time, I really like Joyce, Faulkner, Kundera, and Vonnegut, but most of the time I am watching films :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was able to eat cicadas in a small farming village in China
I draw caricatures at the zoo, and the best part has always been about meeting the people!
In Santorini, Greece...there are three ways you can get to the top where all of the shops and restaurants are, 1. By the cable car 2. By Donkey or 3. To walk up the zigzag path along the rockside. My sister and I, being overly ambitious...decided to do all three. We walked all the way up, then walked back down, took the cable car up again, and then took a donkey down!
