About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be The Little Engine That Will.

ABOUT ME

In a few words: witty and expressive, always hungry and in the mood for coffee (bold, but not black) or milk tea (more tea, less sugar).

I also like Calvin & Hobbes:
"Happiness isn't good enough for me! I demand euphoria!" - Calvin & Hobbes

PHILOSOPHY

If you like it, tell somebody. If you hate it, warn somebody.

Travel light and stay flexible!

"The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are." -- John Pierpont

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new, but feel free to show me around!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Rule #1: (Get to) Know your host.

I almost approached the wrong person when couchsurfing for the first time. Luckily, he called to tell me he was still 5 minutes away -- awkward moment avoided!

Interests

Eating, reading, journaling, traveling, debunking myths, artsy animation shorts, learning what makes people tick, discovering good music, and finding great cafes

The highlights:
Watching a movie-in-the-park, hiking in the Santa Cruz Mountains, watching the sunrise and/or sunset from a hammock, snorkeling/surfing in the summer, learning to spin poi on the beach, building terrariums, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Surviving a dangerous bus ride along the mountainous routes to do some missionary work and teach English to 7th-8th graders at a public school in a remote Nepalese village

At the end of that trek, even our bus driver had to stop for a cigarette break. What a ride!

Teach, Learn, Share

If you hang out with me, you will:
- Eat the best dumplings and desserts in town
- Find the best coffee in the bay area
- Quickly feel like we've become old friends
