ABOUT ME

My first name is Amber, like the colour, smell, tree, beer... (my father got a lot of the last when I was just born :) ). My last name is 'Bloos', which means 'blush' in Dutch and I hear like all the time how that suits me. I have to admit I do have red cheeks most of the time and I can be a little bit shy, but my curiosity wins. I think I'm open and interested. 'No' is not a word I often use, as I always want to do and see as many things as possible!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Living as an au pair in England was a dream coming true and I definitely experienced how much fun it is meeting different international people, seeing new places... As well as I learned it's good not to plan everything always on for hand (as I used to do). The most incredible things happen spontaneously :D I want more!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

- I did inter railling a couple of summers ago, partied with this nice people in Nice, bumped into them on a Paris station again (huge coincidence!) and hosted them when i just arrived home a week later :D
- Hitchhiked to Berlin
- Couchsurfed during a trip through the UK

People, all forms of art, like theatre (my brother just finished theatre school, always so proud seeing him perform!), cinema (art house), museums, music (lots of different styles, except for most hip hop and r&b), dancing (I've done a bit of argentine tango, modern jazz.. Zumba and ballet, currently dived back into the salsa scene), travelling, playing piano (I do a tiny bit of improvisation, jazz/blues, as well as Amelie for example), going for walks in the forest or on the streets, writing, sailing, snowboarding...

Favourite movies: Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain and Little Miss Sunshine. Seeing lots of movies in the art house film theaters in Amsterdam, since I have an unlimited pass :D
So much music I enjoy listening to! Latest discovery: Chila Jatun (was introduced to them and saw them live while visiting a friend in La Paz, Bolivia)

- Walking on the bottom of the sea!
- Accidentally arriving in the middle of the first Occupy demonstrations and an associated art exhibition in New York!
