ABOUT ME

I'm a talkative person with a wide variety of interests. Very opinionated, but polite and tolerant at the same time. I am a committed Christian. Fairly well traveled, (England, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Czech, Japan, and almost every state in the USA too) BUT, obviously, wanting to travel more. France, Spain, Italy & Greece, as well as Scandinavia are on my list to see--and I must say, I really love modern-day Germany.

PHILOSOPHY

I aim to live my life "enjoying God, and glorifying Him forever." This means loving God with all that I am, and then being able to love people...with all that He gives. I believe that in order to really live, and love, you must be alive to, and love the Creator--who came to Earth historically--in the Person of Jesus Christ.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd like to be friendly and welcoming to visitors to Charlotte--helping to destroy mis-perceptions about Americans, and the American South.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to this organization...but I have stayed with friends I didn't know that well in Germany and Switzerland...once sleeping on an air-mattress in an old Army Barracks/apartment, in Constanz, Germany.

Interessen

I enjoy keeping up on current events/news, historical events, I'm a bit of an expert on Dr. Martin Luther (having studied the Protestant Reformation in Germany). I rode a bicycle coast-to-coast (Oregon, to Delaware) in America when I was in college. I like good coffee, and good beer (but not at the same time).

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Handel is my favorite classical composer. Various rock groups sound good to me--although I really do not enjoy American "country music." I like action adventure films (Braveheart, or Terminator were great) as well as historic dramas. C. S. Lewis, the English writer is one of my favorites.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I do know a lot about Christianity, Christian/Church history, theology, Luther, Calvin, and Reformed Theology. I know many may find that boring...but I think many more have not yet known the interesting sides of these subjects.
