CURRENT MISSION

Fill my brain with life. Until I can look at my mind and feel as if I've done something with myself. I suspect this will take my entire natural life, but hey you have to start somewhere right?

ABOUT ME

I'm a PhD candidate in Physics (Astrophysics) at the University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia. I do research and teaching here, and it's an almost insane amount of work but I love it!
The PhD tends to take up most of my time these days, but when I'm not phd-ing I like to do things like what's listed in my interests.
I can be laid-back or stressed, depending on what the situation calls for (although I prefer to be laid-back). I like getting along with as many people as I can, but am not afraid to call people out on something if they cross a line. I can be talkative or quiet, slow or fast, romantic or pragmatic, sarcastic or sincere. I smoke, but can stop (temporarily!) when required.

PHILOSOPHY

Set goals, then work towards them. Still take things as they come, though, because deviations from a decided path are where some of the best things happen. I don't like to wander aimlessly - that provides no satisfaction.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to this (and signed up because it really seems like an awesome thing).
But I like meeting people. And as soon as my PhD is done, I plan to spend all my money travelling to fun places and meeting fun people. Then when I get a postdoc/job, I can host people and meet more fun people!

Bunjee jumping? Standing at the top of a glacier, above cloud level? I don't think I've yet done the one amazing thing that should go in this box.
