About Me

to find a way

I've always wanted to be ginger. If you are ginger, I like you by default.

I feel my feet only when I'm on the road.

I'm never late, but quite often lost in time. Things are a bit better with space.

If I met an elf, I'd expect him to speak Welsh. As for cats, they are supposed to speak Icelandic.

For me, the world is a text - a hypertext, to be more precise. If you have any comments or objections, welcome to the Late Night Kitchen Philosophy Club.

And finally comes the most important thing: I can see if I like you or not, if I trust you or not by the way you speak. Don't ask how it works - I don't know! Just be careful what you say; otherwise, words become worthless.

I am a part of all that I have met;
Yet all experience is an arch wherethrough
Gleams that untravelled world, whose margin fades
For ever and for ever when I move.
Et où que j'aille, dans l'univers entier,
Je rencontre toujours,
hors de moi comme en moi,
L'irremplissable Vide,
L'inconquérable Rien.

(Alfred Tennyson / Valéry Larbaud)

Existential Russia, stay tuned!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: from classical to dark jazz, from good old rock to gypsy-balkan-klezmer-folky kind of thing.

Books: oh that's my expertise, so the list is too long and everchanging. There are authors though whom I've always loved and will ever love, either for their amazing sense of language, or for the depths they delve into, or for both: Fyodor Dostoevsky, Vladimir Nabokov, Marina Tsvetajeva, Umberto Eco, John R. R. Tolkien, Milorad Pavić, Boris Vian, Flann O'Brien, James Joyce, Meir Shalev...

I have no special interest in movies so I'm still quite ignorant in this area.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
