I am an ex-long term backpacker with itchy feet. I moved to Cape Town from Canada when I was 10 years old, and grew up in South Africa during the apartheid years, which was difficult but also inspiring when change came.
I consider myself fortunate to have got to 37 without having to work for anyone except myself. I had a music shop, own half a language school which teaches English to foreign students, and now run a web site company. I don't see myself as a business person though, I want to travel and be creative and share great experiences with good people.
life seems pretty random to me, but we might as well make the most of it
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For now I would like to offer a room in my house to friendly travellers and perhaps show them a bit of Cape Town. Next year I hope to cycle across Europe and get to meet many more people.
I am a couch surfing virgin, so curious and excited to have my first experience!

I trekked by myself into the mountains of Lesotho when I was 16 years old, and stayed in rural villages with local people. This gave me a love of travel to places away from the normal tourist routes.
