One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was just nine years old my mother ran over a drunk man in our hometown of Managua, where people roam the streets inordinately. My mother was so scared she could not react, but I discovered that in moments of crisis I can react quite calmly, and I pulled over a cab and took the bleeding nearly unconscious man to the hospital and spent several hours with him until he got sober and walked away with three teeth missing and no broken bones. The story illustrates the fact that 1. Drunk people are more prone to survive than sober people, and 2. That I am quite comfortable with saving your life if I am ever in the position to do so, don't worry, I won't stand on the sidelines!

Teach, Learn, Share
