To travel, learn, witness, create
I'm a kid who has a lot to learn and a hunger for it. I'm a writer at heart, and someone who feels calm in hearing the stories of others. I am always willing to sit and have a conversation with anybody, to talk of things that concern each of us in a broader context, to feel connected regardless of our familiarity with one another. I'm not sure I believe in calling someone a 'stranger'. I also find these 'about me' things quite tedious - there is only so much I can relay without body language and human contact. But hey, I think this site is a wonderful idea - it seems I've been missing out!
"A great warrior may conquer a thousand men in battle, but a true warrior must learn to conquer himself."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
None, thus far, but I'm excited at the prospect. A friend of mine hosts from time to time, and there's nothing I enjoy more than talking with someone with no pre-conceived notions or expectations!
Yoga, reading, poetry, park lounging, biking, longboarding, beer tasting, chess, cooking, baking, science fiction, tattoos, learning french, photography, bushido, foreign policy, debate, socialism, communism, facism, capitalism...
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: hip hop (old school, new school), DJ's, classical, punk, indie, electronic - with the exception of country (generally speaking), I'm pretty much down for anything.

Reading now: Catch - 22. I'm also in a big podcast phase: Democracy Now!, Philosophy Bites, The Ricky Gervais Show.
Favourite authors at the moment: Atwood, Klein, Patel
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Recently, I have witnessed some pretty incredible protests in Montreal against the Charest party and subsequent tuition increases - strength in numbers, to say the least.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a fascination with words, with cultures both my own and beyond. Einstein said it best: "I have no special talents; I am only passionately curious."
I make a mean Italian dinner - from scratch! I love finding weird, new fruits at the market and digging around in Chinatown. I love Scrabble (I have a travel set, too!), and am learning to play chess. I'm certainly not an expert in many things, but let's get to know each other and see what comes from it!
