Hi there, my name is Andrew. I live in the NYC metro area and run my own small business consulting group, in addition to other community groups for my neighborhood. In my freetime I usually can be found playing gamed while my constant stream of Bob's Burger's plays in the background.

What has always been a big passion of mine is exploring new cities -- and not just the "touristy" ones, but the everyday gems that are hidden throughout the world. It is what drove me to create and manage my own community organization for my town.

Rather than seeking out the flashy and crowded, I love to spend my time in local coffee shops and cafes in order to see how the locals live. I also just love the coffee!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling and independence is a big part of who I am. I've lived on my own since the age of 17, and grew up spending the summers in Greece (where my family is from). I recently started my Couchsurfing account because I'm not the type of person who, while traveling, enjoys "tourist" activities like bus tours or eating at the "tourist trap" restaurant in the center of the city. I like meeting people and forming lifelong friendships.

In today's world of divisive actions, I want to show that there are still folks who love connecting with people from every culture, nation, and ethnicity.

I wish I had more hobbies. I tried crocheting. That lasted for a day. I tried football, and I still have no idea how it works (the game, not the ball).

I love the EDM group Galantis.

Frankenstein is my favorite book, and I lie about having read 70% of the classics we were supposed to have read in school.

I'm not a big movie buff. I just can't sit through the whole thing. But I LOVE GoT, House of Cards, The Office, Friends, and Parks and Rec.

I also can binge watch Chopped and Kitchen Nightmares.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Started my own business. It's not the next Amazon, but I enjoy it and it allows me to be location independent.
