About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My only mission is to see, experience, and learn.
ABOUT ME
A friend of mine was into couch surfing, and he seemed to have nothing but good experiences, so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm not well traveled at all, but I want to be, so I'm up for visiting just about anywhere. I'm fairly quiet and straightforward, but can loosen up a lot once you get to know me (or give me alcohol, depending on how much work you want to put into it).
I'm an information sponge, so I know a little about a lot of subjects, and I really love stories and talking about them, whether it's a good book, a cool movie, or a decent video game.
I love to write, especially fiction, and am really excited about the prospect of finding inspiration by meeting new people and seeing new places.
PHILOSOPHY
Good opportunities are rare, second chances even rarer. If something that looks good presents itself, take a moment to consider, then pounce! (If the good thing happens to be a person, then not literally, unless they're into that).
Interests
Reading, writing, hiking, urban exploration, beer (I'm a homebrewer), indie music, movies, religion (I'm not religious at all, but I think it's pretty interesting).

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Fight Club, The Shawshank Redemption, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Up In The Air, Where The Wild Things Are, Gattaca, Inception, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Rango.
Books: Very eclectic taste in books, but generally I like science fiction and urban fantasy. I also love James Clavelle's Asian Saga and anything by Jonathan Lethem. Also, House of Leaves will melt your soul, but in a good way.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've gone camping in the redwoods in Northern California for three days. Three layers of clothing, my jacket, and a sleeping bag, and I was still freezing. Very much worth it, though.
Teach, Learn, Share
Adding flavors to a batch of beer (which are called adjuncts) is easy; most of the time, you just throw your ingredients into the brewing pot towards the end of the boil. If you're using something that is delicate and wouldn't benefit from boiling or initial fermentation (like honey or mint), then just soak it in the cheapest, most rotgut vodka you can find for two weeks, making a simple tincture, and add it to your secondary fermentor. Plenty of flavor carries over, everything stays sanitized, and you get the satisfaction of making something complex yet able to make you blackout.
