About Me

ABOUT ME

I am a quintessential nature-freak.

PHILOSOPHY

Raised Roman Catholic, and while I hold true to parts of that I believe the more important things to believe in and respect are the more hippie-sounding notions of peace, love, respect, harmony, and adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't have a roof of my own to volunteer at the moment, but I am always ready and willing to help or join anyone on an outing. For the moment, I am just trying to get settled in Columbia and find some places to stay on extended trips around the area.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet.

Interests

My truest passions are running and reading. I also mountain bike, backpack, hike, rock-climb, and I am trying to get into mountaineering, kayaking, and scuba diving if I ever get the money to spare.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books-
Marcus Aurelius- Meditations
Jon Krakauer- Into the Wild/Into Thin Air/Eiger Dreams
Edward Abbey- Desert Solitaire/The Monkey Wrench Gang
I have mostly read books on war, adventure, and philosophy. Each one stands out to me, but the authors above had the greatest effect on me at the time I read them.
I've never been overly inspired by movies or music, so I'll just leave those alone.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have traveled a decent bit, and done quite a few things I am proud of and that I enjoyed immensely, (hiking the Grand Canyon rim to rim in a day is up there) but I am most proud of running my first trail marathon having only quit smoking four months prior. That event set me on the path I am today, and I find that just a little more amazing than the rest.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have alot of running and endurance knowledge, as well as a working knowledge of the Southwest. I try to collect any knowledge about the outdoors I can get, so I have a slight knack for that sort of thing, but I still have alot to learn to excel in that area.
