About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Friendly Scotsman with a bike and a tent cycling down from Vancouver to Mexican Border, no real plan just going to see where the road takes me!

ABOUT ME

Love the outdoors and meeting new people. Cycling from Vancouver to the Mexican border between 21st August and 24th October. Spent a year hitch hiking, skiing and working around France in 2012/13 and well and truly got the travel bug. Looking forward to exploiting some local knowledge and sharing great unexpected adventures with locals.

PHILOSOPHY

Want to get off the beaten track and have some unique experiences. Philosophy for current trip is to have very flexible plans and camp and utilise couch surfing as much as possible to save money on accommodation!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Fairly new to couchsurfing but my sister has an account for our shared flat and my parents have our home in Aberdeen, Scotland on the site as well. Had some great guests up there and enjoyed showing them some of the local hotspots.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books- Born to Run, Snow Leopard and Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know- Ranulph Fiennes... all incredible.

House music on a night out, otherwise indie chilled.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skiing back country a 3 hour trek from the closest lift and seeing an avalanche drop beneath me.

Teach, Learn, Share

Worked around France building surf racks for a bit, a few practical skills and can speak French!
