ABOUT ME
Restless soul is fairly accurate. In the last five years I have lived in China, Uganda, Hawaii, Boston and most recently Argentina. I enjoy meeting new people, but be warned in case you like to party that I don't do very well in loud, crowded places. I have no musical talent, but I can pick up languages quite well so I'd love the opportunity to learn and practice! I love the outdoors, respect nature, and am always up for a hike or walk around the city.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new to CouchSurfing and have hosted only once, but I really enjoyed my first hosting experience and look forward to continuing making new friends.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Very little, but had a really nice first experience hosting so I'm excited to keep doing so.
I was living in the middle of NOWHERE with a hunter gatherer indigenous group for the last couple months so sorry for being MIA.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I tried intimidating a charging alpha male chimp with a branch while doing research in Uganda--amazed to to live and tell you it worked.
At 19, I discovered I was a decent skateboarder having never done anything athletic in my life AND I was shocked to find I was a natural at surfing two years later--I'm excited to now try snowboarding!
Teach, Learn, Share
Languages: I can teach English, Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin). I'd love to practice these with you or learn a new language.
Food: I'm first generation Mexican-American so my grandma and mom fed me homemade mexican food my entire life. I'd be happy to teach you how to make the classics like guacamole, or get a bit more daring with mole! Since I grew up with ONLY mexican food and school cafeteria food, please teach me whatever cousine you enjoy.

I've worked in various labs--immunology re: heart transplants, neuroscience re: olfaction, endocrinology re:wild animal reproductive ecology--I'd be happy to discuss any of that.
Odd Jobs: Dog walker, real estate assistant, librarian, first and fifth grade teacher, waitress, copy editor for an medical anthropologist writing a book on the Biopolitics of Cuba, SAT prep teacher in China, English teacher in the Dominican Republic, photographer assistant for parties.
