Hello. My name is Anirudh Shiva and I was never supposed to write an About Me.

Not if it were up to my parents at least.

They were convinced I was going to be a girl.

My name was going to be ‘Nisha.’

Then I showed up. Bringing with me a panic storm.

“It’s a boy? Are you sure? But we didn’t even pick out boy names!” my mum cried.

While dad just scratched his head, confused.

So, to defuse the tension, my uncle shot out the first name that came to his head.

“What about Anirudh?”

My parents looked at each other, looked at him and said, “Yeah, sure. Guess that works.”

So if you have trouble pronouncing my name, don’t blame me. I’m not even supposed to be here.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've always believed in the quote 'Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.' Which is why I'm always a sucker for travelling, exploring new places and meeting new people at all times. Couchsurfing is probably the best platform to be able to do that and just learn about different cultures and people. In turn widening my perspectives about life, the universe and everything.

Interests

I'm a football fanatic and have supported Manchester United for almost 20 years. Actually, to be honest I'm just a sports fanatic in general. I also get really excited about adventure sports and live concerts. I used to do a lot of art when I was a kid and still occasionally doodle around. Also learning the guitar currently.
