ABOUT ME

I have come, miraculously, to love Los Angeles. This is due in large part to living in a fabulous intentional community called the Los Angeles Eco-village, a 40-person co-housing project in Koreatown. We try to live as eco-friendly an existence as is possible in the most car-centered, consumption-driven city on the planet. We have a gorgeous garden with lots of fruit trees, chickens and cats, host speakers on various political and environmental topics, and spend lots of quality time cooking for each other, working on projects and going on adventures. We are a very diverse group of folks pretty much any way you slice it (age, occupation, background, ethnicity). Living here makes me feel rooted and at home.
When not in a clinic doing the doctor thing or studying, I can generally be found biking around like a maniac, cooking fabulous veggie goodness, baking tasty treats, reading bizarre fiction or political theory, poking about in the garden, dancing, meditating or chilling with my neighbors.
When I grow up, I want to promote health in a prison or an immigrant detention center. Also live with my friends and raise kids together. These days it all sounds quite possible.
I love traveling, although it is hard to squeeze in these days due to the whole medical training thing. I'm a particular fan of wandering around cities getting lost but also escaping cityness and doing the camping and backpacking thing.
