Обо мне

CURRENT MISSION

conocer la vida venezolana!

ABOUT ME

Probably that I work a little too much and sleep too little, but that I am passionate in all that I do. Probably that I am very intelligent but forgetful and absentminded when it comes to the small things. Probably that I have a horrible sense of fashion. Probably that I am gifted in knowing people, in learning their stories and listening to their struggles.

Интересы

I love cities, the diversity, the culture and the business of life. I study Sociology, so people-watching is one of my favorite activities. I love being outdoors, hiking wherever I can. I love learning Spanish, the constant challenge and constant reward of being able to say something new, express myself just a little bit more. I love to cook; so much of my life always feels unfinished and indefinite that it feels good to make something with my hands, to start it and finish it in the same day, and ENJOY it. To make something beautiful, something delicious - it is utter therapy. And the passion which drives me most is the passion for justice, to seek out the ugly truths in this world and make them known, contribute to the struggle for change in whatever small way that I can.

Классная вещь, которую я сделал(-а)

The Mexican/U.S. border on the west coast left an impression on me like none other in my life. Driving westward towards the ocean in Mexico, we passed by miles and miles of fence that climbs menacingly above the road. But when we arrived on the sand of the beach, the most western edge of the continent, the fence dissipates into metal rods with spaces in between, until there is nothing but water. The free movement of the water back and forth, in waves without restriction or fixed direction, is taunting in stark comparison with the cold wall the stands beside it, with the helicopters that circle in the air and the SUVs which that rest like watchdogs on the other side. The paradox of this image makes a mockery of the idea that humans can cut up the earth into pieces of our own, unwelcome to others.
