About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be happy in a way that people around you are too.

ABOUT ME

I'm an open-minded girl who is curious towards life and tries to stay positive no matter what. Mix of adventurous, caring and someone who enjoys getting into what happens after death -type of conversations.

Social work student in University of Tampere. Will be living in Recife, Brazil as an exchange student in 2018. Looking forward to meet some great people via Couchsurfing during this time! :)

PHILOSOPHY

"Become friends with people who aren't your age. Hang out with people whose first language isn't the same as yours. Get to know someone who doesn't come from your social class. This is how you see the world. This is how you grow."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to get a piece of the traveller lifestyle back home by getting to know foreigners and hearing their stories. When travelling I think the best way to get to understand the country and it's culture is meeting the locals.

I don't have much couchsurfing experience yet but have been once a visitor and once a host and both experiences have been great. Hoping to get more cs friends though!

Interests

Travelling of course, sports, music, writing, drawing, pole dancing, playing pool and ping pong, flea markets, summer nights, sunsets and sunrises, climbing on to anything possible, exploring...

Also in Finland we have this thing called "hyggeily", meaning chilling and napping with your comfy clothes- ahhhh.

Also on a more serious note I'm really interested in learning of the social issues in different countries and global social work.

Music, Movies, and Books

Red hot chili peppers, Mumford and sons, Rise against, Five finger death punch... I notice my taste in music depends a lot of the environment, season and overall mood. For example when travelling I always fall in love with the local music no matter how "bad" it is haha.

When it comes to movies The Lord Of The Rings trilogy is the ultimate top one. Other amazing ones are Inglorious Basterds, Shawshank Redemption and Disney movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moving alone, quite spontaneously, to a village in Mozambique without knowing any Portuguese. That was "straight to the deep end" experience, but really amazing one! Also killing a chicken there, it was traumatizing, the knife was NOT sharp.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Finnish language (and songs with not-so-great singing voice), positive attitude and stories from my travels.

Would be great to learn how to cook. That's like rocket science to me.

I love to meet new people and get to know them - I believe that everyone has a story to tell and we can learn something from every person we meet.
