About Me

It's a funny thing coming home. Nothing changes. Everything looks the same, feels the same, even smells the same. You realize what has changed is you. - F. Scott Fitzgerald

ABOUT ME

***just moved back to the Netherlands, still looking for a permanent place to live, so unfortunately I can't host at the moment***

I hate traveling. I don't like meeting new people or experience things I don't know. Being in new surroundings and getting to know new cultures scares me. I like my comfort zone and I don't want to leave it. I loathe books and music and especially detest movies. Anthropology is something I always wonder why someone would be interested in it.

And of course, worst of all are irony and sarcasm.

PHILOSOPHY

there's a lot of things to do before you die

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

best way to travel!

Interests

meet interesting people, try new stuff, take tons of pictures, go to museums, play guitar, do stupid stuff with friends, walk around new cities getting lost on purpose, go to concerts, philosophize about stuff, smile at strangers, watch arthouse movies and a lot of other stuff I just can't think about right now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Riding a horse through the mongolian steppe with nomad kids screaming at their horses right next to me.
Hitchhiking a jaguar all the way to the beginning of the trek to preikestolen, norway.
Screaming at a guy on his bicycle to finally stop cycling and look up to see the northern lights.
Bumping into a shamanic ritual at baikal lake, being shout at in russian by a supposedly drunk guy throwing raisins.
Staying a week with an indian family in kalkutta, almost getting married (unintentionally) to a friend of theirs.
Paragliding next to vultures in pokhara, nepal.
Teaching tibetan monks who'd laugh every time someone would say "shit" in mcleod ganj, india.
Climbing all those steps up in wuling yuan national park in china to see the “avatar”-mountains surrounded by smog.
Simply seeing the victory day parade in moscow.
Diving next to manta rays in komodo, indonesia.
