Touch the energy of the world. Go to India to celebrate my birthday.
Female, 59 (young 59). I keep myself engaged in life so I practice Vipassana meditation and Yoga regularly. For many years I was an anti-nuclear activist with a watchdog group outside of the Lawrence Livermore National Nuclear Weapons Laboratory. We did research, organized public education and published articles among other things. I attended a woman's college in Oakland. My father was a Geology professor. Growing up I traveled each year with our family to various exotic places around the U.S. I have also been to Jamicia, Bimini, England, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece and Canada.
My philosophy is probably Buddhist but I am very open minded about other religions and practices. Many paths. I always try to find a greater truth and meaning in my situations and in others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I was invited to join this network by my Yoga teacher. I participate by making my door open to visitors from around the world. Currently, I am looking for an acceptable stay in Kochi. I will first be traveling to Ayuryogashram an Ayurvedic resort located at Parlikad, near Thrissur, then onto Kochi.
In future I am happy to open my home in the Sierra Nevada to surfers but that can only be during the months of April-October.
I have no CouchSurfing experiences to report yet.
I paint. You can find me on Facebook where I have posted several albums of photos of my work. I have many spiritual interests and meditate.
Music, Movies, and Books
I have recently enjoyed the movies "Enlighten Up!" and "The Botany of Desire". I have many interests but tend to enjoy historical books and documentary movies that tell me of another time or place I might never know about. My husband is a classical symphony musician so I am familiar and enjoy that répertoire.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've stood on glaciers as they moved. I walked out to the ocean edge to view erupting lava. I have whitewater rafted on the Snake River. I have cared for and raised two children. I've climbed in Yosemite. I chased a tornado. I have been to several tropical islands. I used to row crew in college. I came face to face with a big horn ram in the Cascades. I meditated 10 hours a day for 10 days once. I could go on and on.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can offer massage knowledge and techniques, no doubt useful for travelers to use on themselves and each other. Just because we can do something we don't think of it as a skills because it just comes to us easily. However, there are many useful things I could teach simply because I am a little older.
