I'm 36-year-old historian from Finland, working at the University of Jyväskylä (completed my PhD in 2008 at Royal Holloway, University of London). My hobbies&passion include skiing and photography. I also play the guitar.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to list! My taste in music ranges from classical to rock, although at the moment I'm quite into relaxing acoustic guitar stuff such as Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, Birdy, Zaz and the likes. Spotify playlists often do the job for me...

As a historian, I enjoy well-made historical movies (recently I've enjoyed the Monuments Men and the Book thief...). Also, good comedy and some action are never out of place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amongst many adventures, one amazing thing is that I've taken one of the longest and fastest ziplines in the world (Leogang, Austria), flying at 75mph/130km/h at the height of 140m across the valley...

Teach, Learn, Share

Apart from being a historian, whose job is to research and tech history at the university, I can and have been teaching skiing (certified skiing instructor), guitar playing and photography.

I'm always willing to learn new things such as different foods and languages! I want to share good times, friendship and create happy memories.
