I think of myself as an explorer, adventurer, and sharer. I cherish and value being connected with our world, and one another. I am very curious, I always want to learn and figure it out. I am a good listener, and a direct communicator. I swim, ride bikes, and party like if I was in my 20s, while in my 30s.

I enjoy depth, surface and everything in between. I've lived in SF on-and-off for about 17 years, lived in Germany for a year, and I've lived in various cities in the US and Mexico for periods of time. I spent the last 2 years in Guadalajara developing sources of income for women, and I just moved back to San Francisco where I direct a program that organizes immigrant workers to access dignified work and fair wages.

PHILOSOPHY

Each of us has the right, responsibility, and potential to be happy and contribute to the happiness of others.

Regardless, life just happens. Be your best, do your best, and then smile, chill and enjoy.

Agreements and convictions are more successful than rules and commitments.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

Sharing with fellow Couchsurfers has been awesome. I participate by contributing as much as I can, and being present: having fun, dancing, swimming, riding bicycles, traveling, hosting, attending meetings, offering guidance, seeking assistance, exchanging languages and perspectives, exploring life, reshaping the world together.

CouchSurfers here and there have become awesomeness, fun, and meaning in my life: ride-sharing, traveling together, being hosted, and hosting - the list is long and it touches many geographies. I've hosted in San Francisco, LA, and Mexico. I've been hosted in lots of places around the globe, and I've met really great folks attending local CS activities wherever I go.

Interests

Bicycles, swimming, and traveling.

I worked in tech for years before running 3 businesses in San Francisco that help people with mental health disabilities get jobs. I run a nonprofit in San Francisco that convenes leaders across sectors for using business to benefit communities. I was in Guadalajara for 2 years creating sources of income for women, and I'm back in SF directing the SF Day Labor program and women's collective.

I believe that access to work is a basic human right. Everyone deserves the chance of making a living while making a difference, and I'm taking action to open paths for disenfranchised people in our communities to have that opportunity.

Music, Movies & Books

I'll watch it all! read it all, and listen to it all!

I love exploring and revisiting new and old movies, series, music, books, random stuff online and offline. I love sci-fi or anything with lots of spectacular visuals.

I read anything from Atlantic, Adbusters, The Onion, etc.. to business week, nytimes, random philosophy, business, and computer-related books. I have an eclectic approach to media.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

I won a silver medal for swimming 200 butterfly in the Eurogames in Germany in 2004.

I once ran into a guy riding a unicycle dressed in a pink bunny rabbit outfit while playing the flute. He was playing to a couple of dudes who were playing the drums while others were dancing. I saw it shaping up, and it was completely random, at the corner of 18th and Castro... only in San Francisco!
