About Me

enjoy the whole world!

I'm a software engineer, working to produce a UK-based health and beauty website. I live in Beckenham, part of the Greater London sprawl. I enjoy travelling, and would love to go on a long-distance cycle ride across Europe some day. I'm currently studying Russian language (I have a basic-level certificate) and have some smattering of French and German left from school.

I am easy-going, usually quiet and calm. Which might be at odds with my appearance, but there you go!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Up to now, I haven't done much on CS, as I wasn't travelling for the past year or so. But now I have a flat where it's possible to host people, and hope to get out and about again. I usually travel solo, so a forum to meet like-minded souls, either natives or also passing through, sounds like a great idea.

cycling, cameras, computers, cats... interests not starting with 'c' also available (:

Music, Movies, and Books

I like rock music; in fact, many things from Slayer to Depeche Mode. There's a bass guitar in my room that I don't play often enough :/

Very much a sci-fi person, preferring books to movies most of the time. Lots of Star Wars books, and some comics but not many.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A whirlwind excursion in India: two weeks of working, punctuated by brief slices of life in what seemed a different world!

Finally seeing San Francisco after growing up with posters of it plastered over the walls from American mom :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Practice of speaking Russian would be great, it's not often I get a chance to practice here in London (: It's even more rare to find someone who speaks less English than I do Russian, of course!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Hungary, India, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russian Federation, Slovenia, Sweden, Ukraine, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

United Kingdom
