making the most of every day
I was born in Wilmington and raised in and outside of Philadelphia. I wrapped up a Master's in Urban Planning at Columbia University in 2012 and then headed to California to be a Teaching Fellow at Singularity University. I'm now back on the East Coast and bouncing between New York and Philadelphia. I'm passionate about communities and technology and I believe that everyone is capable of making the world a better place for all of us to live in and enjoy together.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted a few and met up with plenty of others. I love to explore the city with surfers.
I've surfed a few times while traveling through Europe and I have hosted a few surfers, on my own and with roommates. My most memorable surfing experiences happened at my first apartment in NYC. One was visiting Columbia for an international finance conference. Another surfer was on a trip from Denmark to see the US and I remember the great conversations we had one frigid night walking north along museum mile in NYC. Most recently, four recent university graduates from Greece stayed for a weekend and we had some great conversations about the need for more folks to travel and experience other cultures first-hand.

Music, Movies, and Books
Way way too many to list them all. For film, I love comedies, action and am a bit of sucker for the romantic comedies. For books, a touch of everything but these days mostly classics, contemporary novels recommended by friends or ones dealing with the theory and practice of architecture and urban planning. As for music, I listen to an eclectic selection but most often I come back to country and classical/jazz piano.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbed to the top of Mt Washington, a whirlwind tour of Guangzhou by car, sliding down river beds in Yosemite, crossing an ice bridge in Montana, and many more adventures
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm in the process of becoming a licensed architect and completed a master's degree in urban planning so I love to help others learn about the built world around them. I'm also very much into old and new technologies so love to discuss their potential with others. Oh, and I am an amateur painter.
